چکیده

Investigating the relation between artificial intelligence, robots and unemployment on a panel of 33 OECD countries covering 2005—2017 period, we find that 10% increase in stock industrial is associated with 0.42 point rate. For intelligence (AI), use patents as proxy AI-related technological capabilities positive correlation aggregated rate, albeit statistically weaker than one found for robots. We then run regressions rates differentiated by education age, observe highly heterogeneous effects groups. example, effect 2.5 times greater 25-34 year-olds below upper secondary levels 55-64 year-olds tertiary degree. Lastly, strongest rate people medium level education, providing some evidence could contribute to polarization labor market. A similar AI, but results are less robust robots.JEL CODES: J23, J24, O33
